• The Omachi Treaty

A Treaty of Friendship

The leaders of the Montreal Kendo Club in Montreal, Canada and the leaders of the Omachi-shi Shonen Kendo Club in Omachi, Japan have developed a friendship through the practice of Kendo. Taking this opportunity, the Montreal Kendo Club and the Omachi-shi Shonen Kendo Club will enter into a permanent Treaty of Friendship.

The purpose of this Treaty is to develop closer relations, reliance, and friendship through the practice of kendo, the exchange of culture and other diverse fields. The signing of this Treaty will signify a contribution by the Montreal Kendo Club and the Omachi-shi Shonen Kendo Club to the prosperity, happiness, and peace in the world.

We, the aforementioned, signed this agreement in Omachi, Nagano, Japan on the 26th Day of April in the year 2003.
